Serving with Us

0 Items

As we all reevaluate our priorities and desires for reentering the world, perhaps it’s been on your mind how you want to best use your gifts within the church and community. We’ve all learned from the pandemic that where we spend our time and energy are precious decisions. We invite you to be in prayer about where God is calling you, and how we can encourage you to answer that calling to serve out of your giftedness.

Here are some, but not all, of the many ways you can serve with us this upcoming season:

Faith Formation

Class leaders, assistants, attendance trackers, and more. Servant leaders will be essential for children, youth, and adult groups. Can’t serve on Sunday? We also have programs during the week and on zoom. If you’d like to work with our children and youth, please complete the Children & Youth Ministry Application at  https://forms.gle/waDjhCVKC5w1bAAS6.

Fellowship Ministries

As we begin to eat together again (as we Methodists have been waiting for), leaders who help with food and beverage hospitality will be needed for Sunday mornings. We would also like to continue to offer fun fellowship opportunities at least once a month. If you are the “wouldn’t that be fun?” kind of person, we would love to have you help organize these events.

Welcoming Crew

Perhaps walking up to a new friend is just your style, and helping new folks get acquainted is a gift of yours. We’d love to introduce you to visitors and new members. OR perhaps you’re a great behind-the-scenes worker who would be willing to put together visitor gifts. Both sets of gifts serve to show hospitality to our new friends.

Worship Team

Both traditional and modern worship services would love to have your gifts as we enter into this new season. Whether you are interested in reading Scripture, serving as an usher, sharing music, or caring for the worship space, we’d love to have you join us on the worship team.

Outreach, Mission, and Justice Ministries

From Homework Helpers, our new after school program, to supporting our food pantries, to reaching out to OhioGuidestone, to caring for God’s creation – God is on the move here at UMCB!  If you’re interested in any of these “hands on” ministries that seek to strengthen the Beloved Community, these areas of ministry may be for you.

Of course, God may be calling you to a new ministry. Please let us know how we can support you.

For any of these ministry opportunities, contact Pastor Carrie (cantczak@umcb.org, 440-234-3525×105) to be connected with the lay leaders who tend these efforts. Not sure where to serve particularly? We’d love to talk with you about your gifts and graces and help you find just the right spot to serve.
