Our church prides itself on being a welcoming place where students can come and feel like one of the family. In past years, some families from within the church have taken it upon themselves to spontaneously "adopt" a student. They become a part of that student's support structure while thay are away from home, and they build a friendship that lasts well beyond four years of college.
Obviously, there are two key components needed: an interested student and an interested church family.
There will be some of each who will take it upon themselves to find people with whom to connect, but not everyone will.
So: if you are a church family who would be interested in being an "adoptive family" for a student, or if you are a B-W student who might be interested in having a church family "adopt" you, simply let us know who you are, and we'll see about arranging an adoption.
And in case you were worried, this doesn't have to be anything fancy or complicated, it doesn't matter when you come to worship, and it doesn't have to be something that happens right away. The point is just for us to meet you and give you another way to feel like you belong here.
