Brief: Two Contemporary Worship Interns will be hired. This internship is appropriate for someone with musical interests and skills interested in helping lead the church’s contemporary worship, or for someone interested in the use of audio-visual technology in contemporary Christian worship.
Hours: 5 Hours per week while classes are in session.
Length of Internship: 2011-2012 academic year
Stipend: $500 for the school year
Full Description: The Intern will work under the supervision of the church’s Contemporary Worship Leader. The Intern and Contemporary Worship Leader will define together the nature of the Intern’s work based on the gifts and interests of the Intern and the needs of the church. Activities for this internship may include marketing and publicity for the service, coordinating and setting up sound equipment, videos, and PowerPoint presentations for worship, rehearsing and performing with the church praise band, selecting appropriate praise songs for worship, being part of the worship design team, and possible periodic teaching/preaching in worship.
Accountability: The Intern will meet with the Contemporary Worship Leader at least twice a month for ongoing evaluation and direction. At least once per semester the Intern will meet with the Pastor or Internship Director along with the other college interns at the United Methodist Church of Berea for accountability, encouragement and leadership development.
